Jamie’s journey began in 5th grade when her parents recognized her love of animals and took her to Vet-A-Visit at Michigan State University. She interned at Clarke-Everett Dog & Cat Hospital when she was a senior in high school and went on to achieve her dream of attending MSU. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Zoology and earned her License of Veterinary Technology from the College of Veterinary Medicine. Jamie worked as a technician for several years, including a big move to the East Coast where she worked in a small animal practice, but her love of The Great Lake’s fresh water lured her back home to Traverse City where she was born and raised. As fate would have it, a technician position became available at Clarke-Everett. Jamie officially joined the team in October of 2014. She has enjoyed all aspects of her job but especially loves working in the laboratory, dentistry and dental radiography. When not at work, Jamie spends her time running, training for half marathons, hiking with her rescue pup Jersey and going to the beach. She loves singing as part of NMC’s Grand Traverse Chorale, actively serving in her church and spending time with her fur babies; Jersey, a chow mix, and her two rescue cats Orion and Leland Blue.
